Who actually likes working in fast food places?
I've been working at this fast food place for about 5 months now and I just want to not show up and quit. It's my first job and I hope it's my last one in fast food places. I want to get a new job for the summer when I get my car. I'm defiantly not going to work in fast food or any restaurant for sure. How many of you actually liked a job in fast food? Also, is working in a clothes store like the ones at the mall better than fast food?
any job is what YOU make of it
there are people that have had bad experiences in all careers.
fast-food is not meant to be a career for most but it is meant to provide employment with flexible hours for youth and those who need part-time employment and it teaches job skills, work-ethic, responsibility and work specific skills you will use in any career you decide to pursue in the future.
remember your job pays for you to do the things you enjoy away from work so………………………………………
treat it well.

i worked for a year and three months as my forst job in fast food and it sucked hard core..
Yes clothing stores are better, don't have to deal with all the grease and smelling like food,
However the pay is also going to be low, crappy hours, crappy bosses

I've done both jobs
I have managed at 2 fast food restaurants, and I can tell you that just about anything is better than working fast food. However, you might want to rethink walking out because, since this is your first job, you may wish to use it as a reference for your next job.

I don't always like it, but working in a chain pizza shop can be kinda fun. I did that for a few years.
Still fast food, but better food, still stressful, but at the same time can be real laid back. And I love pizza, so discounts on it makes me happy.
I've never worked at the mall, so I can't tell you about that. But if you drop your fast food joint and cannot find another job, check out pizza.
EDIT: Listen to the woman above me. Don't burn your bridges. Do your job well and give your two weeks when the time comes. And just a note, I think working as a regular employee in the chain pizza business is less stressful than managing. I've done both, and I'd rather not worry about about business costs and service numbers, etc. I prefer just answering phones, ringing up customers and making the food. I get my paycheck, my employee discount, make my boss happy, and go home with worrying about my job. You just have to decide if you rather have higher pay or lower stress.

I've been working at a fast food place for about three years (to get me through school) and even though it's stressful I love the people I work with. Even though I could get paid more somewhere else…I'd rather work with people that I know and enjoy working with. You have to pick and chose. I definitely wouldn't walk out, it's not worth it afterwards. If you want to leave…put in your two weeks! Sometimes they won't even make you work the full two weeks (just depends).
Good luck!
