Well what if I …
Well what if I wanted to install a subwoofer or a sound system, which would drain the battery like crazy!!!! or use the A/C (which runs on the battery pack in the Prius) Or what if I lived somewhere where i got “dirty energy” (ie. from coal) and I couldn’t afford solar panels, like most middle class North Americans? That would offset the whole point of the electric car. She didn’t answer these questions. And I hate the fact that she drove like a retarded geriatric, going 20km/h on a main road
you keep answering …
you keep answering statements i dont make. WHY IS THAT.
DUDE! if one farmer …
DUDE! if one farmer does then a fraction is met, why do think only one person will be doing this. wake up man!
its moonshine. means that is the process not the shiners are going to supply us all. why do you take the most drastic look at everything. solve nothing! i think making our on fuel will solve alot, no more ppl trying to blow us up because we take thier oil. you can make more power with a Ethanol engine than gas, plz tell me im wrong, so i can explain that to you also.
I think its more …
I think its more like 500000
Im sorry you go …
Im sorry you go spreading lies about something you dont understand, just because the mags and movies tell you so. The biggest point i waited to tell you was the government and oil corps are gearing up to change over to Ethanol, so i guess your gonna grab a ehtanol car before its all over, HAHA. Never once said Ethanol was new. This small fraction you keep talking about, Gee I wonder if the oil corps know that. HAHA LOL. And why the would i starve, you cant be seriuos?
mr2ya
> PLEASE …
mr2ya
> PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD,
OK, I feel deeply sorry I wasted my time discussing the topic with you. You’re just relentless in your points’n'facts-immune attitude. Go believe in your no-new-energy biofuel and start starving for the sake of satisfying a small fraction of oil demands. Me, on the other hand, I’ll grab a plug-in hybrid.
BTW, I have MSc from a technical university.
oil is needed for …
oil is needed for the tractor for ethanol, you said. you are the problem. spreading the rumor and lies about these things. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, FIND A ENGINEER BUY HIM DINNER AND LET HIM EXPLAIN ALL THE POINTS THAT YOU ARE INCORRECT ABOUT, HE WILL PUT THIS ALL INTO PERSPECTIVE FOR YOU, TRUST ME YOU NEED IT!
Like i said put …
Like i said put down the mag, find a engineer, have him explain what is going on, not many like electric so drop that song and dance about power, we dont care, we want what we want. you REALLY GOT TO FIND SOMEONE TO EXPLIAN THIS, your over doing every point,
Some AGRICULTURE …
Some AGRICULTURE demand though biofuels can meet
> algea will probably be one of the leading forms
In theory. Reality is you need to feed the colony with CO2 water solution to achieve serious grow. And there are still technical problems. And the price of such fuel will be very high
> this can be used on normal bustion engine, with some mods
ICE is a steaming dog turd, forget it. It wastes 75% of fuel due to heat, only pressure increase propels. Electric motor losses are 15%
> its basically …
> its basically moonshine
Don’t even compare volume of moonshine needed to make rednecks wasted to volume needed by industry and transportation
> who is telling you, you need alot of energy
True, hence plug-in hybrids
> screw the globe this is for us
Use all corps in the USA to make biofuel and again a fraction of needs are met
> oil is only needed for the tractor
Tell it millions of American car owners
mr2ya:
> you …
mr2ya:
> you need to learn from somebody who knows whats going on
Stop it. I read enough scientific and analytical articles on theoildrum
> energy is neede to make most all energy
Ratio matters. Early oil gave you 100 units of energy per 1 unit invested->unbeatable EROEI 100. Currently its 5 so still a source. Biofuels have 1, solve nothing
> doesn’t need to be from corn or suger alone
EROEI 1 is for best yielding crops
Do you know how …
Do you know how moonshine is made?
#6 oil is only …
#6 oil is only needed for the tractor, which could be converted to run on Ethanol.
#7 algea can double in size over night, and will probably be one of the leading forms.
#8 this can be used on normal bustion engine, with some mods. so existing engines can be converted, and not selling us on new cars we cant afford.
find a engineer to explain all this better, i dont have the vocab to get the job done over the interweb.
As i suspected. you …
As i suspected. you need to learn from somebody who knows whats going on. books, movies, and other for some reason want to give this a bad name. #1 energy is neede to make most all energy. #2 doesn’t need to be from corn or suger alone #3 its basically moonshine, hillbillies did it forever, so america can afford it too, #4 who is telling you, you need alot of energy? #5 knowone ever said any one thing will take %100 place of oil, atleast not yet. screw the globe this is for us.
Prius 2 millions …
Prius 2 millions units sold!!!! Gmc hibrids,,,,,, 70.000!!! lol
Toyota NUMBER 1!!!!! GMC number 2!! =[
Toyota 3 brands and hold most of the market,,,
GMC 7!!!! 7 BRANDS aND CANT EVEN GET ON TOP! =[
No more to say, the people has spoken, number talk bythemself.
mr2ya
> ethanol …
mr2ya
> ethanol is the best bet [...] whats wrong with it
1. Energy returned to energy invested (EROEI) factor for biofuel is virtually 1 so it’s not a NEW energy source. You need a lot of energy (oil included) to plant, fertilize (make fertilizers), harvest and transform it. It prevents no energy shortage problems, works only when subsidized
2. You need to use all arable areas on Earth (=no more food) to satisfy a small fraction of global oil demand
Start reading theoildrum
soulless, and most …
soulless, and most dont care
I’ve always known …
I’ve always known the option, its called alternative fuel, ethanol is the best bet, because we can make it, doesn’t come from the ground. now are going to try to tell me why ethanol is bad? because I know the unbais answer. and its not what mainstream media will tell you. So tell me whats wrong with it?
mr2ya
> electric …
mr2ya
> electric only yes, not a hybrid
95% car usage driving range is less than 60 miles BUT occasionally (say 5%) long trips are a must. To make an EV-car worthy for this, you need a HUGE and EXPENSIVE battery just for rare necessities (5%), fraction of which will be used for 95% travel
In a plug-in hybrid, you need a SMALL and relatively CHEAP battery for daily electric miles (95%) and small ICE range extender for long travels (5%).
Do you now see what is the feasible option?
you might buy less …
you might buy less gas.. but doesnt your electric bill go up a lot?
5:35, yes please …
5:35, yes please dont buy a EV priusand get better gas milage because you could run over a blind person. OR, you could actually pay attention to signs and the road when you drive.
EV cars have a much …
EV cars have a much stronger value proposition than what she and mention. She also mentioned that charging at night is generated by cleaner sources and that is why it is cheaper — WRONG. It is off peak hours. EV technology is truly embarking a period of technological development that would be disruptive technology for the combustion engine driven powertrain systems. Thanks for the post.
Judy is not a good …
Judy is not a good spokesperson to tout the benefits of EVs. She mentions that electric powertrain and gas provide the similar or the electric is slightly less. She doesn’t mention the higher torque available at all speed ranges of the electric powertrain versus the peaky torque from a combustion powertrain. Furthermore, no mention of smooth acceleration, less maintenance and better reliability.

92-95 honda civic …
92-95 honda civic vx and cx do you need more, since your automotive history seems to be very limited.
do you know how a combustion engine works?
do you understand what weight does to fuel consumption?
your missing the point, prolonging a real solution by constantly promoting a useless bandaid. full electric i have no problem with BUT its not for me, about %70 of america agrees with me also, so im not alone.
alternative fuel has always been the answer,
and thats a fact you should learn
